Michele Guess, ERYT, YACEP, PharmD

Founder & Instructor

Michele brings a unique perspective to the yoga community through her life experiences as a mother, yoga teacher and PharmD.  She is an ERYT200 hour registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, receiving her training from Camellia Rumble, eRYT500 & Juan Villegas, ERYT500 via Yogacara.  She has also completed more than 100 hours of Aerial Yoga training from Kerry Tice, ERYT500 from Circusoul Flying Yoga, and 40 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with Bryan Kest.  She is also currently enrolled in 670 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga University in Altamonte Springs, FL as she believes learning is a lifelong process.

Michele and Jeff started the company http://www.KulaYogaKids.com to empower the youth of our community through yoga and mindfulness practices; giving them the tools they need to navigate through this ever changing, fast paced world.  She completed her Children’s’ Yoga Teacher Training with Jamie Amor, RYT of Cosmic Kids Yoga after seeing how her own son loved and benefited from the practice of yoga.  Kula Yoga Kids offers daily kids yoga classes along with an after school program teaching kids yoga, mindfulness, nutrition, music, art, and much more. The Kula Yoga Kids Facebook and Instagram pages provide updates on all these services.

Although she has practiced yoga for many years, she discovered Aerial yoga in 2013 and instantly loved it as it provided relief of her neck and upper back pain from a skiing injury from many years before.  As yoga (and especially aerial yoga) has drastically improved her quality of life, she felt it was too beneficial both physically and mentally not to share it with others.  She started the company http://www.FlyingBeachYoga.com in order to share the practice of aerial yoga and currently teaches aerial and trains out of multiple studios.  You can fine her under the same name on Facebook and YouTube and @FlyingBeachYoga on Instagram.

Absolutely not, we offer the kids class at the same time as our 4pm adult class so that you have the opportunity to attend if you choose, but it is not required.

A photo ID will be required for both drop off and pick up.  If those are 2 different people, it should be written as such on the sign in sheet and brought to the instructor’s attention.

Each child will have a nametag with their name & your cell phone number on it. Michele is certified in CPR and will call your cell (and 911 in a true emergency) if needed.

Ages 5-8 years old will get the most benefit. However, kids up to 12 years old are welcome to attend.  Children younger than 5 can attend with a parent or guardian present.

Drop off is 4pm. Pick up is promptly at 5pm.

For the safety of the children, doors will be locked at 4:10pm. Parents are ALWAYS welcome to stay if they choose.  You may text Michele (the kids yoga instructor) at  (386) 290-6620 to come open the door for you.  She cannot hear you knocking at the door. Please wait until 5pm for pick up as it will disrupt the kids yoga class.
